Exfoliation comes in many forms, and can help you shed dull winter skin to reveal FRESH, SMOOTH, GLOWING skin in time for warmer weather. Use caution to select the appropriate types of exfoliation for your skin, and to not over-exfoliate, which can cause irriation, sensitivity, and over-drying. FRESH-FACED
The skin on your face after a dry winter can be extremely dull and dehydrated. You can achieve softer, more supple skin through a variety of Spa treatments and/or products. Lactic Acid Peels (starting at only $45) is a pain-free chemical exfoliation process that smoothes the skin’s surface by gently dissolving the dead outer layer of the skin, with zero down-time. As an added bonus, Lactic Acid actually hydrates the skin as well. We also have a variety of exfoliation products available for home use, such as Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant ® ($49) a unique rice-based enzyme powder that microfoliates dulling debris and instantly leaves skin noticeably smoother and brighter. We love and recommend this product because it is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. This and other home care products are perfect for maintaining the smooth skin for weeks after your spa treatment.
SILKY SMOOTH
Waxing is a great alternative to shaving, which usually results in unsightly stubble within a day or two. Body Waxing Treatments, especially Bikini and Brazilian Waxing ($25 to $55), have increased dramatically in popularity over the last few years, because of the lasting smoothness and lack of home maintenance. Many clients note several weeks of results from waxing treatments, as well as diminished hair growth each time. Although these are not painless procedures, most clients find that the temporary discomfort can be decreased significantly applying a topical numbing gel (We recommend Plum Numb, $19.99) 10 to 15 minutes prior to the waxing procedure. For extra SMOOTHNESS, we also recommend Plum Genius ($19.99), a gentle roll-on exfoliation product , be used before and between waxing appointments to reduce irritation and ingrown hairs.

GET GLOWING
When shorts weather rolls around, no one wants to look pasty-pale, but the good news is that you no longer have to sacrifice the health of your skin to have a natural-looking summer glow (not a fake-looking orange,resembling an Oompa loompa or even worse, a cast member of Jersey Shore.) Airbrush Tans ($30) are a safe alternative to skin-damaging tanning beds or sun exposure. We recommend our clients shave and exfoliate (gently but thoroughly) to ensure an even and long-lasting application of our SunMist® Tan which tans you instantly and can last up to 12 days! For a more gradual tan, we love Hempz® Touch of Summer ($18.50, available in two shades), enriched with Organic Hemp Seed Oil, that is applied daily as your body moisturizer and achieves maximum color in just a week. Unlike other sspray tans and sunless tanning products sold in stores, neither the SunMist®Tan nor Hempz Touch of Summer has a funky fake tan smell- it actually has a very pleasant fragrance!
